The Health Service Executive (HSE) is responsible for the provision of health and personal social services for everyone living in Ireland, with public funds. The HSE is Ireland’s largest employer with over 67,000 direct employees. It has an annual budget of over €13 billion, more than any other public sector organisation.
The Problem:
- Bureaucratic barriers prohibiting HSE from addressing inefficient administrative
issues - Multiple stakeholders needed for approval. End-users experience internal
sign-off barriers for change - Integration challenges around centralised patient administration systems (PAS)
- A requirement for flexible, agile and cost-effective solutions to help overcome
these barriers
The Solution:
- Create universal software communication layer to the HSE
PAS system - Created multiple point solutions to that help overcome
bureaucratic barriers - Emergency List Management
The Outcome:
- Progress: Implementation of several point solutions addressing front-line staff
requirements - On-going long-term relationship that will last into
the future.
